Veronique Delpire

BA Hons, PhD

Veronique is a medical writer trained in animal ethics, with a PhD in bioethics from the University of Nottingham, England. She has more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical field, both as a publications professional, and giving advice and training for clinical R&D bioethics.

She is as an external evaluator of European Commission-funded research projects, and supports life science researchers identifying appropriate research funding schemes, as well as addressing and monitoring ethics issues related to their research.

She is accredited with the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA), a member of the International Society of Medical Publications Professionals, Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R), the International Association of Bioethics (IAB), and an associate member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Anita Vanderpooten

MSc, PhD

Anita is a biologist with a PhD from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. She has a solid background in immunology, vaccine development, infectious diseases, respiratory and inflammatory disorders, and endocrinology.

She worked for nine years as an academic researcher and from 2000 to 2005 as a medical writer in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in regulatory writing. She joined Words & Science in 2005 as a clinical regulatory and publications writer.

Anita is a member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA).

Mandy Payne

As a freelance medical journalist and editor, with a special interest in research ethics, Mandy has been writing, editing and producing health publications since 1991. She has collaborated with Words & Science since 2010 providing publication writing and editing support.

Mandy is a member of the Medical Journalists’ Association (MJA), and the European Association of Science Editors (EASE); and is an associate member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). She is a native English speaker and is based in the UK.
